What cookies are and why we use them
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your computer, tablet or phone. Similar technologies, such as pixels, tags and local storage, work in much the same way, and in this policy we refer to all of them as cookies.
Cookies let the site remember things between pages and between visits. Some are set by us and some by the suppliers who help us run parts of the site, including hosting, payments, fraud prevention and measurement. Cookies set by us are first-party cookies; cookies set by a supplier through our site are third-party cookies.
We use cookies for four broad purposes:
- Running the site. Keeping you signed in, moving you safely between pages and the cashier, and remembering where you are in your session.
- Keeping accounts safe. Spotting unusual sign-in patterns, protecting against fraud, and supporting the age and identity checks we carry out as the holder of a gaming licence.
- Understanding how the site performs. Counting visits, finding pages that load slowly and picking up errors.
- Remembering your choices. Your language, your display preferences and the cookie choices you have already made.
Cookies cannot read other files on your device and give us no access to anything on it beyond the information they hold.
The types of cookies we use
Below is a plain description of each category, with examples of the purposes involved. Only strictly necessary cookies are set automatically; the other three categories are set only if you agree to them in our cookie notice.
| Category | Examples of purpose | Set only with consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in, session security, cashier steps, saving your cookie choice | No |
| Performance and analytics | Visit counts, page speed, error reports | Yes |
| Functionality | Language, layout, dismissed notices, live chat settings | Yes |
| Marketing | Campaign measurement, frequency capping | Yes |
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are needed for the site to work and for your account to stay secure. They keep your sign-in valid as you move around the site, balance traffic across our servers, remember the stage you have reached in a deposit or withdrawal in the cashier, and record the cookie choices you have made so that we do not ask you again on every page. Because the site cannot function without them, they do not rely on your consent and cannot be switched off in our cookie notice. You can still block them in your browser, but parts of the site will stop working.
Performance and analytics cookies
These cookies tell us how the site is used, in aggregate rather than by name. They count page views and unique visits, show us which pages load slowly or return errors, record the route players take to the help pages, and let us compare two versions of a page to see which is clearer. The reports we receive are statistical, and we do not use them to identify you personally.
Functionality cookies
These cookies remember choices you have made so the site behaves the way you expect. They can hold your preferred language, keep your lobby layout, remember that you have dismissed a notice, and retain settings in the live chat window so a conversation continues if the page reloads.
Marketing cookies
These cookies measure and limit the advertising you see. They help us understand which campaign brought you to the site, cap how often the same message is shown, and measure whether an advertisement led to a registration. Where an advertising supplier sets a cookie through our site, that supplier may also use it to show you advertising elsewhere. We do not use marketing cookies to advertise to players who have taken a time-out, completed a self-exclusion or registered with GamStop.
How to manage cookies
You are in control of every category except strictly necessary cookies, and you can change your mind at any time.
In the cookie notice on our site
When you first arrive, our cookie notice asks what you are happy for us to set. You can accept all categories, reject everything that is not strictly necessary, or choose category by category. Your choice is saved and applied on your next visit. The notice can be opened again at any time from the cookie settings control in the site footer, where a category can be turned off as easily as it was turned on. Withdrawing consent stops further cookies in that category being set; it does not affect anything lawfully done beforehand.
In your browser settings
Every mainstream browser lets you see the cookies stored on your device and decide what to allow. The wording differs, but the steps are much the same:
- Open the settings or preferences menu in your browser.
- Find the section for privacy, security or site data.
- Choose whether to block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or allow cookies and clear them when the browser closes.
- Use the list of stored cookies to delete the entries for individual sites, including ours.
- Repeat the steps on each browser and device you use, as these settings are not shared between them.
Mobile devices also carry settings that limit advertising identifiers, which work alongside your browser choices.
What happens if you block or delete cookies
Turning off the categories that rely on consent is straightforward and the site will still work. Blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies has a larger effect.
- You may be unable to sign in, or you may be signed out as you move between pages.
- The cashier may lose track of a deposit or withdrawal part-way through.
- Preferences such as language and layout will reset on every visit.
- Our cookie notice will appear again each time, because the record of your choice is itself held in a cookie.
- Some security checks may fail, and access to your account may be held until our team can confirm it is you.
Safer gambling settings are not stored in cookies
Deposit limits, loss limits, time-outs and self-exclusion are held on your account and in our systems, not on your device. Clearing cookies, switching browser or using private browsing does not cancel them, and it does not end a registration with GamStop. Our site is for players aged 18 or over.
How to reach us about cookies
If you have a question about this policy, want help changing your settings, or think a cookie is behaving in a way we have not described here, write to us at support@casino-luckyblock.co.uk or use the live chat on the site. For wider questions about how we handle personal data, including any request about your own data, you can write to privacy@casino-luckyblock.co.uk.
We update this policy when the cookies we use change, or when the rules that apply to them change. The version on this page is the current one, and the date it last changed is shown with it.
Free, confidential support is available from GambleAware, GamCare and the National Gambling Helpline if gambling is causing you concern. Our support team can also point you to the deposit limit, time-out and self-exclusion tools in your account with us.
